Sonya Saldivar Interior Design is based in Jacksonville, Florida, proudly serving clients across Northeast Florida. We also take on select projects and are available for remote and out-of-state work, with proper site access and trusted local collaboration.

Sonya Saldivar grew up in Chicago, Illinois, where her love for design was born not in studios or showrooms, but in the modest city apartments of her childhood—places that demanded creativity, flexibility, and vision. That foundational curiosity eventually led her to a short stint studying design, though a desire to serve brought her into the Air Force Reserves, where she worked in health management for three years.

After starting a family and settling down in Florida, Sonya returned to her creative path. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Miami International University in Jacksonville, and worked across a range of roles—from architectural intern to interior design assistant and new construction designer—gaining hands-on experience in both commercial and residential projects.

While freelancing and collaborating with Patricia Thompson Design Associates, Sonya found not only a mentor, but also clarity: her heart was in residential design. She launched her studio, Sonya Saldivar Interior Design, in 2019 with a focus on renovation, space planning, and construction documentation. Her work is rooted in helping clients understand and elevate the underlying structure of their homes, creating environments that unfold over time into something deeply personal.

Sonya brings a calm, grounded energy to every project and thrives on thoughtful collaboration. Outside of her studio, she finds joy in trying new recipes, watching films, discovering underground artists, and spending time with her husband, two children, and their cat.
